About the Seminar:
4.5 % of the LSHTM staff have declared a disability. How confident are you that our workplace is disability inclusive, and what does this really mean? Join us for this joint seminar to debunk the myths around disability inclusion and to learn about disability confidence in the workplace. Our speakers will share their own experiences of disability in the workplace to promote best practice and ensure a disability-inclusive working environment for all.
About the Chair:
Dr Ossie Stuart: is a visiting lecturer at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is also an Equality and Diversity consultant and runs the HEI Calibre Leadership Programme that is aimed at disabled employees at universities. Prior to this he spent twelve years as an academic at the Universities of Oxford, York and Surrey.
About the Speakers:
Emmet de Monterey: Emmett is a psychotherapist in private practice in London. Prior to setting up in practice he worked as a therapist at HMP Wandsworth, and also in an Employee Assistance Programme for TFL. Before training as a therapist he worked for many years as a theatre designer.
Prior to working for Imperial Bernadette was among London’s youngest landladies to manage pubs in the 1980’s and early 1990’s.
This seminar is primarily targeted at LSHTM staff, but students and external audiences are also welcome.
If coming from outside the school, please sign in at reception when you arrive, and a member from the Disability Centre will be waiting in the foyer to accompany you to the theatre.
